Ransomeware Take Hospital Offline, Demand $3.6 Million

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center has become a hostage for latest ransomware which attacks their computer system. The malware shut down the network which makes the hospital unable to communicate and obtains patient information. The hacker who create the ransomware demands $3.6 million to unlock their network system.

It has been a week since the system offline and It is still unknown whether patients data has been compromised. To ensure patients still receive proper treatment, they have been transferred to other medical facilities. For non-critical, medical professionals and administrator still struggle to communicate among them using fax and telephone.
