Ian Rogers quits from Apple Beats 1 radio and move to Europe doing unrelated business with music streaming. He and two other executive from Beats Music; Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine move to Apple when the company were bought for $3 billion in May 2014. Before joining Apple, he is the Chief Executive at Beats. After joining Apple, Ian Rogers is the man who lead the development for the Beats 1 free radio and it is unclear why he leaves Apple.
Earlier this month, it is reported more than 11 million member have joined Apple Music trial subscription. Compare to Spotify who have 75 million subscribers, it is still unknown whether the Apple Music will make money for them. Although current Apple Music subscription is free for three months, Apple still paid to artists who participate. Current trial users for Apple Music will be ended in October. Apple claim the retention rate is 79 percent and hopefully they able to reach their target.
